Local government won't seek court injunction to end Hwy. 402 blockade

Lambton County warden Kevin Marriott said Saturday they’re not actively considering a court order to end the demonstration, which has blocked the westbound lanes of Highway 402 between Nauvoo Road and Oil Heritage Road since Wednesday. That route leads to the Sarnia-Michigan border crossing.

Saturday marked Day Four of the highway blockade.

The Ottawa Police Service continues to deploy all available resources to put an end to the unlawful demonstration in the downtown core, respond to calls for service, and improve neighbourhood safety.

There have been 26 arrests in relation to criminal charges. Including two additional arrests for public intoxication.

In downtown Ottawa, over 4K demonstrators were present throughout the day. Safety concerns - arising from aggressive, illegal behaviour by many demonstrators - limited police enforcement capabilities.
